Check It Out: Vancouver Train Expo 2018

Looking for something fun for the kids to do this weekend? The Vancouver Train Expo 2018 is this weekend! Head over to the Pacific National Exhibition Forum aka the PNE Forum for a day filled of model trains. The Vancouver Train Expo is on November 10th and November 11th.

I don’t know about you, but one thing I’ve always enjoyed throughout the years have been miniatures, including model railways. A fond childhood memory of mine was when I received a model train set for a Christmas present. My dad hung a sheet of plywood from the ceiling as a base for me to build the model train set, which resulted in hours upon hours of fun. Since then, I’ve always enjoyed seeing people create these miniature worlds and I found that my kids have also started to like them too!

Vancouver Train Expo 2018

In its 36th year, the Vancouver Train Expo exhibits the great and popular hobby of model railroading put on by the Lower Mainland Train Expo Society and is organized by a volunteer committee. Whether you are a veteran model railroader, a train enthusiast or just someone who wants to see some cool functional model railroads, there is something for everyone to see and enjoy.

New for the Vancouver Train Expo 2018 are the CP Minitrain, Smart Trains, Revelstoke Railway Museum and the ever popular children’s “hands on” wooden railway for toddlers.

There are over 60 exhibitors this year with their meticulous recreations of trains running through majestic mountain scenery, cities and more.
