Father’s Day Gift Guide for 2021

Father’s Day 2021 is coming up really quickly, and I thought I would do a small gift guide with products I would recommend for gifts to other Dad’s out there or perhaps gifts that I thought would be cool or handy to have myself one day.

Let’s get straight to it then!

Clothing

I’m super simple when it comes to clothing and there are a couple of brands that over the years I have highly enjoyed purchasing and wearing on a daily basis. I also like companies that think about the environment more so than their bottom line.

tentree

Tentree Mobius 35L Backpack

If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter (or both?) you have probably seen me post various things about tentree. tentree is a sustainable (and comfortable) clothing company right here in the Vancouver, BC area.

They plant trees for every item you purchase and have a goal to have 1 Billion trees planted by 2030. With each item you purchase, ten trees are planted. So with that in mind, the more you buy, the more trees get planted! The more trees that get planted, the better for our little planet. You can even choose the geographic location those trees are to be planted as well.

Items from tentree that I’ve acquired and love are the following:

I have always found their clothing to fit generally well and super comfortable. I also like when people come up and say to me “Hey, is that from that tree company?” Neat little conversation starter.

BN3TH

BN3TH Classic Underwear

Going with the sustainability theme, the next company which is also headquartered here in Vancouver, BC is BN3TH (pronounced like “beneath”).

Now, it’s rumoured that a man’s underwear is typically not thrown out until it looks like it was torn apart by a rabid grizzly bear. So, one might want something that is comfortable and long-lasting, right? I’ve tried a variety of underwear over the years, and BN3TH has been amazing and my favourite go-to brand!

BN3TH, with its MyPakage Pouch Technology™, makes use of a sustainable and Eco-friendly soft fabric that is chafe-free and breathable. They offer a variety of styles, sizes, fabrics and patterns.

Head on over to the BN3TH Collections page to find a pair (or more) that will be comfortable in a variety of situations and last a long time!

Finnley

It seems that I am on clothing kick for this 2021 Father’s Day Gift Guide and why not? I know I welcome new clothing and I am sure other Dads out there would like some new clothing too right?

Well, with camping season starting around here in the Pacific Northwest it is time to check out some clothing that can be great for camping. I started following Finnley somewhat recently when I saw fellow Dad influencers talking about them.

Finnley started in a small town in Ontario has recently relocated to our beautiful West Coast city of Vancouver (see more great companies here in Vancouver!). All of Finnley’s products are made right here in Canada and are produced ethically and sustainably.

Currently, their clothing line consists of Shirts, Sweaters, Headwear and Socks. All of these items look super comfortable and cozy for those times around the campfire!

Vessi

It seems that my gift guide is going more towards clothing than anything else eh? Since we’ve gotten most of our body parts covered with recommendations from clothing companies, why not pair it with a cool useful type of shoe?

I forget where I first saw Vessi, probably on Instagram but I instantly fell in love with their product: Waterproof shoes. Did I mention they are Vegan too?

Yes, Vessi shoes are completely 100% waterproof. Great for the Pacific Northwest weather where it rains like 500 days of the year. Vessi now also has a larger selection of styles to choose from as well as colours.

I personally have the following:

I use them no matter the weather. Great for walking in the rain, walking across streams or walking along the ocean shoreline. They keep your feet (and your socks) completely dry!

Gadgets

Next up are various gadgets that a Dad might find useful around the house. I love a good gadget, and I am pretty particular with the gadgets I buy, so let me see if I can recommend a few gadgets out there that any awesome Dad would love.

MANSCAPED™

I’ve been using the MANSCAPED 2.0 for a while now, and it’s been the greatest electric and waterproof trimmer I’ve used to date. Not only can you use it for the hair below one’s head, but you can use it for a quick beard trim, too (make sure you clean it first). Did I mention it’s waterproof?

MANSCAPED Lawnmower 4.0

Now, with this Father’s Day, MANSCAPED™ just launched their fourth generation trimmer, The Lawn Mower® 4.0. This ultimate groin and body trimmer is a gift that is for both you and him. Their 4th generation trimmer features a cutting-edge ceramic blade to reduce grooming accidents thanks to their Advanced SkinSafe™Technology. Also, the new wireless charging system uses electromagnetic induction, which can help battery life last longer.

You can Save 20% off + free shipping by going to manscaped.com/adadsadventures.

Check back later as I’ll be reviewing their Lawn Mower® 4.0 soon!

RYOBI 40V String Trimmer/Edger

Let’s talk about something else that is wireless and trims. No, not another personal grooming device, but one for outside! Yes, the RYOBI 40V String Trimmer/Edger.

RYOBI 40V String Trimmer

The RYOBI 40V String Trimmer/Edger is something that I would love to get my hands on. Our yard isn’t large enough to need a gas-powered trimmer, but it is large enough not to want to be tethered to an outdoor electrical outlet; this is where the RYOBI 40V String Trimmer/Edger comes into play.

Some of the features of the RYOBI 40V String Trimmer/Edger are:

  • 40V Battery pack (90 min charge, and can be used on other RYOBI products)
  • Auto-feed String Head
  • Variable Speed Trigger
  • Adjustable Cutting Width

You can find more information about the RYOBI 40V System. You can find RYOBI products at places like Home Depot.

Synology DS220+

Okay, this might be for the more geeky Dads out there and one of my more expensive recommendations, but I have personally come to love the Synology DiskStation NAS (or Network Attached Storage).

What can a Dad use the Synology DS220+ for exactly? Well, primarily made for digital storage he can store all his photos, documents, and more on these little standalone devices.

He could install a service like Plex and stream movies from a central location. He could backup everyone’s digitally connected devices in the home for safeguarding. Imagine, all those phone photos and videos your family take, all backed up automatically to a place within your own home so you can easily access them from anywhere in the world (securely)?

The DS220+ goes for about $390 CAD but you need to purchase two hard drives separately as well so the full cost will vary. I personally have the DS220+ with two 8TB Seagate Ironwolf NAS drives (2x $300 CAD) so you can see how the price can go up quickly.

Wrapped Up

That’s it. A few of the products I have personally have used and recommend to other Dads out there. Or for other people to purchase for the Dad in their life!

I hope you find this little list helpful in finding that new unique gift. Though, a great thing is these items can be used by anyone! So go check them out and let me know if you have bought any of these in the past or plan on buying them in the near future by dropping me a comment down below!
