About

Who Am I?

I’m a 40-something old Canadian, married to a beautiful wife of over 9-years (we hope to hit at least our 50th Wedding Anniversary!) with 3 children; a boy ( A ) and girl ( W ) and another girl (Wi).

By day, I am an Embedded Linux Firmware Engineer, or so that’s the title my employer has given me so we’ll go with that.

I am also in love with photography. I can remember the first time I picked up a camera, in fact, I still have that 35mm SLR camera, but like most people, I’ve switched to using digital now. My favourite subject these days to photograph? My kids! I’m sure to share many photos of them here as well as other places around the Internet.

I also enjoy web development with a side of web design. Actually, I really enjoy the backend of web development and trying to get better at web design itself. Though over the past little while I’ve fallen off the web development and design wagon as there are so many different ways to create websites.

What is this all about?

Well, I’ve been wanting to do Yet Another Daddy Blog, YADB, when our son was first born, but I never really got around to doing it. So with our daughter being born and someone recently suggested I should get into it, I thought sure, why not. I enjoy writing even though I am not the best writer out there, but I do like doing it. Who knows, perhaps people out there will like reading about the experience I’ve had while being a dad?

What sort of posts or topics will there be?

I would think a mix of topics, from general parent talk to interesting experiences. I’ll look at reviewing kids toys and gadgets, I’d like to look at gadgets that help us parent. I’ll probably to about kids and technology. As our kids grow up and they get their hands on technology more, I’ll look at those experiences as well.

With my love of photography, perhaps I’ll look at writing about taking better photos of your kids. How you can keep up with their activities and create images you’ll love and continue to love over time. With that, I may need to look at the topic of a Digital Archivist; How to ensure your digital images are saved from generation to generation as many people do not print their images out these days.
